Overview of ITIL, the Information Technology Infrastructure Library

First of all, we need to have an overview of ITIL. A few lines to describe what ITIL is all about:

It is a set of concepts and best practices concerning information technology (IT) service management, and how it can be better aligned with business processes.

ITIL Best Practices

ITIL best practices describe in detail an extensive set of functions and processes designed to help organizations achieve quality and efficiency in IT operations.

ITIL is currently the most widely accepted and used framework in the world of IT service management, thus offering these departments the possibility of successfully carrying out all their processes.

Given the relevance that ITIL is acquiring, I thought it would be a topic of interest for the community of people who in one way or another have to manage services.

ITIL is focused on IT service management, but it is applicable, to a large extent, to any type of service.
